The Home Workout Routine For The Holidays

I am very excited to say that I will be in Phili, PA with my husband and his family for Christmas. I am very excited but already planning what I need to bring to make my workouts still take place. Since we all can agree that the holidays can mean eating a bit more indulgences than normal, it’s going to make you feel great to have a travel workout with you so the guilt level is much less.
Workouts don’t have to take an entire hour either, in fact the workout plan that I am going to suggest takes just 15 minutes and is extremely efficient at burning body fat and helping you burn off those cookie calories.
I am sharing my holiday workout rules with you incase you are going through the same thing… but also know there is an amazing workout right below that you can use.
Be realistic about the time you can devote to your workouts. It’s very admirable of you to set your shoes out at night and announce that you will fun 5 miles each morning but let’s face it you’re around loved ones you don’t often get to see and you’re going to feel stressed to cut that down a bit so you can get back to them. If you had an elaborate plan that doesn’t happen you might get fed up with the entire workout plan and give up all together, don’t let that happen… just be realistic. Make workouts fast and to the point. I promise you, if you have a quarter of an hour then you have all the needed time.
Forget about equipment. Its not worth the trouble to try and load up fitness equipment and all your presents with you, that’s just added stress. All the equipment you need is you. You can get an amazing workout plan in with just using your own body weight exercises. If you are set on the idea of taking a few things with you then I suggest workout bands and a jump rope.
Give those 15 minutes everything you have. With short workouts you want to push yourself hard so from the start till it’s done commit yourself and push to do the very best you can. Write down of your reps and yoru workout to help push eve harder… trust me, it works.
Those are my 3 rules I keep in my own mind for creating a good workout. However if you’re more into the idea of having a routine already then take a look at the one below. I use my interval timer, if you don’t have one then just use your phone’s timer, but the idea is to do each exercise for 45 seconds moving quickly from move to move. Complete the circuit a total of 4 rounds, non stop.
Reverse lunges
Push-ups
Squat jumps
Burpees… with or without a push-up
Overhead sit-ups
Its exactly 15 minutes of physical exercise but by the end you’ll feel as if you really did run for an hour. Happy holidays.
